Enigin new monitoring system
I read in the newspaper only yesterday that the government is looking at installing Smart Meters in all UK households by 2020. The pictures showed the actual Smart Meter and a hand held device for reading the data.
I viewed it with the thought that this is a great step forward for all of us to be more aware of our energy consumption, but I was also very excited as we in the Enigin R&D department have been working really hard to produce a Real-time meter with an interface which will hopefully blow everyone away! The advantage of the Enigin Real-time meter is the data has roughly a second or two delay before displaying, so is extremely current.
The meter we are very near to launching comes under the banner of the Enigin Eniscope. There will be two version to start with. One will be used in schools/colleges, hospitals, airports; in fact anywhere that has a reception area or a desire to actively show how they are dealing with their energy consumption.
The other will be an internal version built in to the actual meter. The first version shows kW, 3 Phase Amps, Volts and many more ‘modules’ on a cyclic split, whereas the second version displays key information in ‘one hit.’ I can’t wait to be able to show what we at Enigin have done, it’s so close now, mid December should see all revealed!
